Introduction

Sunglasses are one of those items that most people love to wear, particularly if they want to embellish their outfits, however, they do not perceive them as something they should take care of and that's quite unfortunate.

Namely, even though they may not be as important as some other things in your possession, it doesn't mean that you should carelessly treat them and then once they are completely ruined, just throw them in the trash.

I mean, okay, it won’t be the end of the world, however, it would be so much better if you took care of them correctly so they can keep you looking good for many years to come. If you would like to know how to take of them, then check out my tips below.person looking skyward with sunglasses on

They Should Be Adjusted

You will frequently stumble upon people who have their eyeglasses adjusted so they can perfectly fit their faces and that’s a great thing, but I am not sure why hardly anybody these days to the same thing with sunglasses.

I mean, just like with eyeglasses, if these are not properly adjusted they most definitely won’t look good on you. Consequently, I would recommend you to do it as soon as possible not only because you’ll look much better, but also because you will decrease the risk of them falling off which means that they’ll end up broken, or damaged at least.

Don’t Forget To Keep Them In A Case

A vast majority of stores will sell you sunglasses with either a case or pouch, so make use of it. Sadly, many people keep their cases in their drawers, shelves, or any other unsafe place where they can easily fall and break.

That's why I think that you should definitely keep them in the case that's intended to safeguard your sunglasses. Now, if by any chance you didn't get the case, then you can always buy one. From what I've heard, the best case is a structured one because it provides the best possible protection, particularly if you put it at the bottom of your bag where all the other stuff is being placed.

But what are you going to do if you accidentally break your sunglass lenses, or you simply want to replace the old ones with something new and refreshing? Well, if that's the case, then lenses on Costas glasses might just pique your interest because they are very chic, not to mention offer great protection. I am positively sure that with these lenses your glasses are going to look absolutely amazing.

Water Can Be Very Helpful

People have a tendency to clean their glasses with a cloth while they are still dry, and that's a completely wrong approach. How come? Keep in mind that lenses attract even the tiniest and least visible particles of dust.

Therefore, if you wipe your glasses while they are still dry, all these aforementioned particles are going to rub across your frames and lenses and will damage them. That’s precisely one of the reasons why you should use water to gently wash your glasses.

This way, you will effectively get rid of dust particles from the surface of the lens. Of course, you can always opt for a cleaning product that is designed specifically for glasses. The only reason why I mentioned water it's because it is a lot more practical because you can clean your glasses wherever you go with it, plus it's definitely cheaper.

Consequently, if by any chance you forget to bring a cleaning product, you can turn to water to effectively eliminate any dirt from the lenses. Speaking of cleaning, bear in mind that you cannot use any material to wipe your lenses.

Things like paper towels, napkins, and tissues are strictly forbidden. Even though at first glance all these materials seem very soft (and no one says they aren’t), they simply aren’t intended for sensitive lenses.

So instead of using them, please be sure to employ something that’s very soft, like the cloth that usually comes with cases.

If you do not have the cloth, then you can purchase cleaning tissues that were designed for sunglasses, so-called sunglasses wipes.

Huge No-No To Sunglasses In The Car

I know that most of us tend to be careless and just leave our sunglasses on the dashboard, but that's generally a huge mistake, particularly during summer when the sun is shining like crazy. Therefore, the best thing that you can do is to bring them with you.

But why is it such a bad idea? Don’t forget that heat (especially when it’s too hot outside) can be generated by the windshield of your vehicle and is capable of delaminating your lenses. Now, this doesn’t mean that you must wear them all the time.

For example, if you're driving, and you need to wear regular eyeglasses, instead of sunglasses, just put them in the case to keep them protected until you decide to put them on again.

Don’t Put Them On The Top Of Your Head

I know that lots of people think they look cool when they do this, however, it would be much better if you put them back in the case as soon as the sun is out, or you've gone indoors. If you continue to do this, in time, they will become stretched and you'll get the feeling that they are too big for your face.
