When your trusty, automatic opener doesn't work for a day, it's just a way of telling you that something is wrong and that it needs a maintenance check. Loosening screws over time can cause the sweep strips to shift at an angle that is not perpendicular to the garage door. So, with a screwdriver, tighten all the screws that hold the tracks in place. If the tapes are in very bad shape, well, then they will need to be replaced.
To repair a malfunctioning garage door, you first need to clean and lubricate the wheels. The irony is that the damask used to lubricate the garage door parts sometimes hardens in the cracks and the door becomes dysfunctional. To clean the debris, use a normal household cleaner and re-lubricate the garage door with garage door lubricant.
