Close up on Oral B cleaning head

Introduction

Oral-B is a world leader when it comes to oral hygiene that stands out with its product offerings, prices, and long tradition. The company was established in 1950 in the United States, and since 2006 the company is owned by P&G (Protect & Gamble). In 1991 the company introduced an indicator toothbrush, while in 1998 they invented the first CrossAction toothbrush with angled toothbrush bristles. The last toothbrush series Genius X with AI technology features were introduced in 2019.

In this review, we want to tell you more about Oral-B Pro 2000 CrossAction Electric Toothbrush. This toothbrush is from the Pro series and one of the most important features is the interchangeable cleaning modes. Let us start with all the Oral-B 2000 electric toothbrush features.

Oral B 2000 Features

Cleaning modes

The Oral-B Pro 2000 has 2 cleaning modes: Daily Clean and Sensitive mode.

Daily Clean mode is recommended for everyday toothbrush and gum cleaning. The motor inside the brush handle is pretty strong and it provides 8,800 oscillations and 40,000 pulsations per minute in the brush head. The company claims that it will remove up to 100% plaque and deeply clean your teeth. Daily Clean mode is a great choice for those who do not have sensitive gums. If you have sensitive teeth and gums, you can easily change it to the Sensitive mode.

Sensitive mode or Gum Care more is a massage for your gums. Unlike the Daily Clean mode, the Sensitive mode has a motor that provides 2,600 oscillations and 12,000 pulsations. Fewer oscillations and fewer pulsations result in lower pressure and a smooth approach on your gums. You can use this mode every day and combine it with the Daily Clean mode, or you can use it from time to time to clean and massage your gums.

3D Cleaning technology is a breakthrough in this industry, and it is a perfect way to clean your teeth with a vibration feature. In those places where the tips of the brush cannot reach, the vibrating technology will clean and remove the plague.

CrossAction brush bristles are designed at different angles at 16 degrees so they can clean even the most inaccessible areas in your mouth. Since the head brushes are smaller, they can perfectly fit and will not cause any unpleasant feeling. If you feel too much pressure, you can always change it to the Sensitive cleaning mode. CrossAction brushes are compatible with all Oral-B brushes, with one exclusion. Because Oral-B 2000 comes from the Pro Series, you will not be able to use the toothbrush head from the iO Series.

Oral B 2000 Battery review

Oral-B 2000 electric toothbrush has an ion-lithium battery that will last up to 2 weeks after the full charge. Because Oral-B 2000 toothbrush is the European model, it will come with a 2 pin UK plug. Compared to the other Oral-B toothbrushes, 2-week battery life is a common feature for most of their toothbrush models. Of course, the battery will last shorter if you have the habit of brushing your teeth more than 2 times a day.

Pressure sensor in the Oral B 2000

On the top of the brush head, with each side, there is a red panel that will light up if you are brushing too hard. To avoid any injuries, it is best to pay attention to the pressure sensor. To make this feature as noticeable as possible, it is made to be visible with a led lighting feature instead of a vibrating effect.

Packaging of the Oral B 2000

Most likely the only thing we can look at as a drawback when it comes to this model is the packaging. Because Oral-B 2000 comes with a lower price compared to the other Oral-B toothbrushes, the package contains one toothbrush head, a handle, and a plugin. After 3 months it is recommended to change the toothbrush head and, in this case, you will have to buy a spare separately. The travel case is not included in the original package which can be tricky when you are traveling. It is worth noting that although the Oral B 2000 is a great option, we found that there was a better value found in our Oral B 3000 review to get the best bang for your buck.

Design of the Oral B 2000

The design is pretty simple and adapted for everyday use without any difficulties. There is an additional design feature that will improve everyday use – a rubber strip on the front of the toothbrush handle. This will prevent the toothbrush from slipping from your hands when it is wet and slippery.

It comes in white color, rubber grip on the front of the handle and a red led lighting on both sides of the handle.

Timer

If this is the first time you are using an electric toothbrush, you need to know that there is also one significant difference when it comes to the brushing time. Compared to the manual brushes, with which we are used to brushing our teeth for a longer period, electric toothbrushes are a little bit different. The best-recommended brushing time is no more than 2 minutes. The dental experts agree that if you brush your teeth longer than it is recommended, you may cause injury. To keep your teeth perfectly safe Oral-B 2000 has a built-in timer in the toothbrush handle that will alert you when 2 minutes end.

At the same time, Oral-B 2000 has a built-on quadpacer that is synced with the timer feature and will alert you every 30 seconds to remind you to change your brushing position. This feature further ensures that the teeth are thoroughly brushed on all sides to maintain oral hygiene at a high level.

Final thoughts on the Oral B 2000

Oral-B 2000 electric toothbrush is an exceptionally good option for two main reasons: if this is your first time using an electric toothbrush and if you want a particularly good toothbrush with some basic features. A Daily Clean mode is a great option for everyday cleaning, while Sensitive mode helps you clean and massage your gums gently and with lower pressure. Given the fact that Oral-B offers a 2-year warranty period, with the possibility to extend it for an additional year if you register your product, this is a great offer that will allow you to maintain oral hygiene at a high level and within one month remove up to 100% plaque.  Oveall the toothbrush is pretty good but if you are in the hunt for a better option we suggest you take a look at our Oral B Pro 6000 review.
