The hot season is around the corner. Is the season of refreshing lemonades and delicious ice creams.

Here are some homemade ice cream recipes you can try whenever you crave for a cool sweet dessert:

Strawberry cheesecake; mango ice cream

In order to make any flavored ice cream, you need to first prepare the ice cream base. It only requires two ingredients: heavy whipping cream and one 400ml can of sweetened condensed milk. They both have to be cold. Additionally, you can also add one teaspoon vanilla extract to the base.

You have to whip the cream (manually or with a stand mixer) and then add the cold condensed milk. You blend everything and add the vanilla extract.

Once you have the base ready, you mix one cup of cheesecake into two cups of the ice cream base and add the strawberries (puree).

The same base can be flavored any way you want. Another delicious option is mango, instead of the strawberries and cheesecake. You mix ¼ cup mango puree with two cups of ice cream base.

Avocado ice cream

I bet you’ve never thought about eating your avocado as an ice cream, have you? Well, you don’t know what you’ve been missing. Here’s the recipe:

Ingredients (8 to 10 servings):

  • One cup of maple syrup
  • The zest of two limes, one cup of lime juice and half a sliced lime for garnish
  • Two cans coconut cream
  • Two tablespoons coconut oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt

Put all the ingredients in the blender, except for the lime slices. After you blend the entire composition, pour it into a loaf pan and add the slices of lime for garnish. Freeze overnight.

Chocolate ice cream

It may be classic, but everyone loves it. Here’s the recipe for homemade chocolate ice cream:

Ingredients (4 servings):

  • Two and a half cups milk, full cream
  • One cup sugar
  • Half a teaspoon vanilla extract
  • One tablespoon custard powder and two of cocoa powder
  • One and a half cups cream
  • Nuts or cherries for garnish

Combine the sugar, custard and cocoa in half of the milk, and boil the rest of the milk. When it boils, add the mix and don’t forget to stir constantly. Let the new composition boil again. Then, let it cool. After it reached the room temperature, add the cream and vanilla. Put the composition in the freezer (in a recipient with a tight lid) and when it is almost completely frozen, take it out and whip it in a blender, then put it back in the freezer, also with the lid on. Repeat that operation when almost set and after approx. 2 hours you can take it out. Add nuts or cherries (at your choice) for garnish and serve.
